According to news from the lighting capital market on July 3, ESPACE Optoelectronics recently completed the A round of financing, jointly invested by Jiangsu Shengkun Investment, Zhuoyuan Capital, and Guohong Investment, a subsidiary of Dongguan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
This round of financing will be used to accelerate the industrialization of ESPACE Optoelectronics’ Mini/Micro LED packaging technology and equipment. Prior to this, ESP Optoelectronics had completed two rounds of strategic financing in 2020 and 2022, and the investors were all Dongguan Kechuang Group.
According to the data, ESPACE Optoelectronics was established in 2020 and its registered place is located in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, with a registered capital of 38.54 million yuan (5.5 million USD). Its business scope includes research and development of special electronic materials; manufacturing of semiconductor lighting devices; sales of semiconductor lighting devices; integrated circuit design; integration circuit manufacturing, etc.
The founding team members of ESPACE Optoelectronics are mainly from well-known universities in China and South Korea, such as Peking University and Seoul National University. The company has more than 15 years of experience in LED packaging production lines and equipment, and has cooperated with Korean companies such as Samsung and Seoul Semiconductor maintaining a good relationship.
It is reported that in the field of Mini LED, ESPACE Optoelectronics has deployed CSP and COB packaging technology, among which Mini LED COB packaging technology has achieved mass production, and the product pass-through rate is as high as 95%. At present, ESPACE Optoelectronics is cooperating with TCL, Samsung, LG and other strategic customers to realize the large-scale implementation of Mini LED packaging technology.
In the field of Micro LED, ESPACE Optoelectronics is focusing on the technical research and production line layout of Micro LED, and plans to establish an overseas R&D center in South Korea to develop Micro LED packaging and commercial technology.
In terms of production, ESPACE Optoelectronics has a total of 38 production lines located in intelligent production bases in Huizhou and Dongguan, covering a production capacity of more than 3 billion yuan (430 million USD). In addition, the production lines also support ultra-high-precision SMT and professional die-bonding SMT production equipment processes.
Just in April this year, ESPACE Optoelectronics continued to expand its production capacity. Its Mini LED chip packaging and transparent display projects officially landed in Huaian, Jiangsu. After the projects are fully completed, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 2 billion yuan (286 million USD) and a tax revenue of 100 million yuan (143 million USD).
